| Notes for Samuel Simpson Black |
Samuel was known as Squire and was often
called on to witness documents. He was one of the executors
of the will of his father-in-law, Jacob Carpenter.120
He died intestate, and his sons Jacob A. and Elsey E. filed
for letters of administration. They named as heirs J.A.
Black (Jacob), Sarah Beam wife of J.T. Beam, Susan Beam
wife of Luther Beam, Mary J. Sneed wife of William Sneed,
Barbara Kiser wife of John Kiser, E.E. Black, and L.H.
Black son of Lawson Black deceased. Samuel's estate was
valued at about $3000.318
