He immigrated from Germany to Philadelphia
on board the ship the St. Andrew's with his father and
brothers. He served in the Revolutionary War.
In 1772 he was paid a bounty on a wolf scalp, and for being
on a venire jury by the Tryon Court of Pleas and Quarter
Sessions.253
In 1775 the same Court appointed him and several others to
lay out a road from Tryon Court House to the Tuckaseegee
ford. This appointment was renewed in 1777. He was
appointed overseer of that road for that section running
between his house and Tryon Court House. 253
He served as a Justice for that Court in 1777, and was also
a tax collector in 1778.253 |
