Notes for Martha Lackey
Martha appears on the 185084, page 183, dwelling 991, family 991 and 186085, page 829, dwelling 114, family 114 censuses living with Mary Oates. We believe this to be her mother's sister Mary Espey who had married John Oates. Martha's mother died in childbirth in 1846 when Martha was only 2 years old. In the 1870 census102, Muddy Fork, Twp No. 5; page 31, dwelling 224, family 228 (microfilm page 161) Mary Oates is living with Martha and her new husband, Eli Sellers. Notice that she was 25 years younger than her husband, Eli.
