| Pryor Byrd enlisted in H Company of the
37th NC Infantry, CSA on 6 October, 1861 as a corporal. He
was demoted to private on 15 February, 1862, but was then
promoted to Sergeant in March 1862. On 9 August of 1862 he
was wounded at Cedar Creek, Va. He appears as AWOL in
October, 1862, which probably means he was late returning
from sick leave. He was then demoted back down to private.
He returned in November of '62. He was wounded again at
Chancellorsville, Va on 3 May, 1863. He was surrendered at
Appomatox on 9 April, 1865.126,26 |
