Notes for Margaret Davis

According to some of Fred's census records²⁰⁸ and family legend, Mag was Welsh or more likely, of Welsh descent. Other census records²⁰⁷ state her birthplace as New York State.

Mag died about six months after Hattie was born and about six weeks after Andy died. It was said she died of a broken heart, but she had supposedly been having trouble after Hattie was born, so it was more likely that. Fred and Ella, both still in their teens, raised the rest of the children as best they could.
