| She was given to the family doctor to raise
when both parents died within six weeks of each other. She
was around six at the time and suffered from Bright's
Disease which the doctor was treating. She was musically
gifted and played the piano. Purportedly, the doctor wanted
to send her to Europe to study music, but she only lived
