| She is listed as a weaver, working at a
cotton mill, on the 1910 census.50, ED 53, SD 91, Sheet 2-A, dwelling
5, family 6 Clemmie and her younger sister Emma
never married but lived together first with their parents,
then with their nephew Bill Brown until their deaths. In
1899 their brother Brethy's wife died and they took in his
two children, Herschel, 6 yrs old and Mabel, 9 months. In
1907 their brother Willie's wife died from childbirth
complications. They then took in Aubra, aged 13, Byron, 11,
Bob, 7, and Bill at ten days old. After the other kids left
home and married, Bill remained and lived with them until
his death in 1963. Emma did more of the housework and
cooking while Clemmie and Bill tended to things
