Notes for William A. Gamble
He enlisted in B Company, 28th NC Infantry, CSA on 29 Mar 1862. He was killed in battle at Hanover Court House on 27 May 1862. He was the first soldier from Gaston County killed in the war. His wife went on to marry another veteran, Robert G. Brown.
