In the 1900 census, Mary had had three
children, two of whom were still living. We know that
James's twin sister Helen died in infancy356, so she is the deceased
child from the 1900 census. In the 1910 census, Mary had
had four children, two of whom died young, so there must
have been one other child, born and died between 1900 and
1910.344,355 Since Edward died in
late 1900, this child must have been born either late 1900
or early 1901.356
