| Florence immigrated from County Kerry,
Ireland around 1861158,
sheet 7, dwelling 99, family 100 arriving in
either Boston or Quebec. It's believed he traveled with two
of his brothers and possibly his father. He first lived in
Canton, and then Potsdam, both in St. Lawrence Co., New
York. Here he enlisted in the Union Army on 14 February
1865. He served in Company B of the 193 NY Infantry until
21 June 1865.153 After his Army service he married Abigail and sometime before 1870159, page 68, dwelling 102, family 102 they moved to Jefferson Co, Iowa.
