In 1860 he and his family shared a house with his daughter Eleista and her husband, although the were listed as separate families.^{197, page 133, dwelling 1124, family
1056} Right next door lived another daughter and her family.^{197, page
133, dwelling 1125, family 1057}

In the 1870 census Philip and his family were enumerated twice about six pages apart. The only difference in the two enumerations was that Philip was listed as 56 instead of 58 in the second one^{470,
page 229, dwelling 145, family 137}.
