| Notes for William Frederick Orange | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| In the 1870 census he is listed as a 24
year old farmer with $65,000 real estate, which was clearly
part of his inheritance. Four of his sisters and a niece
and nephew were living with him.341 He and two of his sisters (Mary and Augusta) never married and lived together at the family home most of their lives. Other sisters and nephews and nieces lived with him at various points in their lives.344,343,342 His niece Gertrude Webb, daughter of his sister Clara, lived with him and his sisters her whole life.345 Her mother had died in childbirth and they raised her from infancy. She never married. Wlliam probably never really needed to work because of his inheritance. Read more about the Orange family. |
