The Will of John Hargrove
dated 26 August 1795
In the name of god amen John Hargrove of the County Mecklenberg being very sick and weak but of perfect mind & memory thanks Begiven unto you: Calling into mind the Mortallity of my body and knowing that it it appointed for all Men once to die, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that it to say
Principally & First of all I give & Recommend soul into the hands of almighty god that gave it & my body I Recommend to the Earth to Buried in a dessent Christian mannor nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same Again by the power of god, and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless in this life I give and dispose of the same to Sarah Hargrove my beloved wife To be freely enjoyed by her during her life and after her decease to fall to my son Benjamin Hargrove & his heirs for Ever -
In witness Whereof I here unto set my hand & Seal this twenty Sixth day of August
Signed Sealed Published pronounced And declared by the said John Hargrove as his Last Will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence & the presence of Each other have here to set Subscribed our names
